(Figure Presented) Bridging two traditional but distinct research areas - polyoxometalate chemistry and cuprous halide clusters - the (4,12)-connected 3D framework (NH4)[Cu24I10L12][PMo V2MoVI10O40]3 has been built by covalent linkage of nanoscale Keggin anions and [Cu 24I10L12]14+ clusters (see picture; L is a multidentate N-heterocyclic ligand); it exhibits remarkable photoluminescent and electrochemical properties. © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
