Arthroscopic biceps tenodesis in the beach chair position

Arthroscopic biceps tenodesis is indicated for the treatment of severe biceps tendinopathy, partial or full thickness biceps tendon tears or biceps instability typically associated with rotator cuff tear. Tenodesis is indicated to establish the appropriate length tension to the muscle avoiding scaring and spasm, allow biceps use for complex elbow motion, and avoidance of cosmetic defects where occasionally deformity can sometimes equal disability. This technical note will provide figures, and detailed descriptions of our arthroscopic tenodesis technique using a Arthrex Bio-Tenodesis system (Arthrex Inc., Naples, FL) in the beach chair position.
