摘要
Vitamin D is one of regulating hormones of phospho-calcic metabolism, we acquire it through sun exposure, from diet (oil fish rich foods, eggs, mushrooms, etc) and from nutritional supplements. Most of vitamin D comes from sun exposure. Most of medicine professionals know main problems of vitamin D lack and how can be solved in actual times, However, rickets and osteomalacia are just the visible part of the iceberg. Multiple receptors for vitamin D have been described, in different tissues, able to convert inactive form in active (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D), which gave us new perspectives about functions of this molecule. Big interest falls over paper of diminishing risk of some chronic illnesses as cancer, immune diseases, infections and cardiovascular problems.
