摘要
Implicit time integration is studied on the coupled RANS/LES of the transitional boundary layer around an airfoil near stall. A reference solution to compare with the implicit Gear scheme is determined with an explicit three-stage Runge-Kutta scheme. It is first shown that implicit simulation can find again explicit results in the transition region with a reduction factor of 2 for the CPU time. Then, large time steps can be used without threatening the agreement with explicit simulation, with similar reduction of the computational cost.
