摘要
Electrochemical Discharge Machining (ECDM) process is a remarkable machining process in the domain of hybrid processes due to its superior process capability. The ECDM process extends its application to machining of difficult to machine materials such as composites, super alloys etc. In present work, the micro-machining of carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) composite has been attempted using tool feed rate, tool rotation and duty cycle as process parameter of ECDM process. The material removal rate and overcut of machined hole were observed as output quality characteristics. The process optimization in the domain of MRR and overcut has been carried out using novel combined Entropy-VIKOR method. Based on optimization results, the parametric conditions A(1)B(3)C(3) i.e. tool feed rate of 100 mu m/min, tool rotation of 100 RPM and duty cycle of 80% are perceived as finest values.
