摘要
Uniaxial tension fatigue tests were conducted on a Ti-6A1-4V alloy that underwent different heat treatments to reveal the effect of microstructures on the very high cycle fatigue properties. The size dependency of the threshold stress intensity factor range is indicated for the sub-surface crack, and a possible mechanism is presented by which sub-surface fractures occur at lower stress levels in the very high cycle regime than do surface-initiated fractures.
