摘要
Achyranthes aspera L. is an erect or subscandent, annual herb, belonging to the family Amaranthaceae. A typical ruderal of open, dry, waste places, road sides and weed of neglected areas in the gardens. The plant has been use for years by rural and tribal communities living in Saurashtra region for treating various diseases including gynaecological disorders. Therefore, it is warranted that step needs to be taken up for laboratory research to probe for validity test as claimed by herbalists and ultimately evolve a system for bio-prospecting and bio-partnership in bringing about cultivation.
