A theoretical model (ETLA) is tested by means of amorphous poly(methylphenyl-silenemethylene) (PMPSM) and high-density semicrystalline polyethylene (PE) lifetime spectra. The ETLA main assumption is a finite time of positironium (Ps) localization. The spectra are analyzed with a new version of LT program, which enables one to fit many spectra simultaneously. Estimated values of the localization time constants are 137 ps for PMPSM and 101 ps for PE. The spectra are measured at T < T-g one by one for 1 h each. The positron irradiation effect is observed and electron detrapping time constants are determined. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
