A male of Pantala flavescens (Fabricius, 1798) was collected on Salo Miguel island, Azores, on 02-xi-2014. This specimen constitutes both the first record of the species in the Azores and its northernmost record in Macaronesia. The distribution of the species in the Macaronesian islands and the possible origin of the Azorean specimen is briefly discussed.
