Current management guidelines for abnormal cervical cancer screening tests are intended to improve detection of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) 2/3 while minimizing the number of colposcopies performed. (1) Although rare, unintended harms may result from longer follow-up intervals after initial diagnosis of cervical dysplasia. We present a case of stage IV cervical cancer in a patient who adhered to current management guidelines.
