摘要
The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between hepatitis B virus (HBV) load and serum levels of transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-beta 1) and soluble Fas (sFas) cytokines in human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients who have never been treated with antiretroviral therapy. HBV and hepatitis C virus (HCV) serological markers, sFas and TGF-beta 1 levels, and HBV load were evaluated in 116 patients. While there was no correlation between TGF-beta 1 levels and HBV load, a positive correlation between sFas levels and HBV load was observed in patients with occult HBV infection.
