摘要
A residual distribution discretisation of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations based on a P1isoP2/P1 finite elements is presented. Residual distribution schemes are applied in their Petrov-Galerkin form to the discretisation of the momentum equation. The discretisation of transport equations with source terms is also discussed in detail, as well as the various possible time stepping strategies. The method is then applied to several laminar and turbulent test cases. A significant improvement over the method of characteristics is observed, both in terms of accuracy and efficiency.
