Contributions of multipolar polarizabilities to the anisotropic and isotropic light scattering induced by molecular interactions in gaseous CF4

摘要
Both anisotropic and isotropic scattering spectral components from pairs of gaseous CF4 have been measured in the vicinity of the Rayleigh line in absolute intensities. Due to the large frequency shifts scanned (2-180cm(-1)), thorough analysis of the influence of linear and nonlinear multipolar contributions has been performed. Comparison with experiment allows us to propose values for the irreducible spherical components of the dipole-quadrupole and dipole-octopole polarizability tensors. These values are compatible with recent quantum ab initio computations.
