摘要
The microstructure and mechanical properties of titanium trialuminide composites produced by reactive arc melting were studied. To analyze the reactive arc-melted products, X ray diffraction (XRD) was performed on the homogenized composites. The strength of the composite was found to improve during dispersion of the reinforcements both at ambient and elevated temperatures. Results of the fracture tests show that the composite has higher toughness than that of the matrix alloy.
