Utilization of post-hydrolytic sulfuric acid to obtain fertilising magnesium sulfate

摘要
Grinding magnesite R-40 or in a mixt. with calcined magnesite (active Mg0) (grain size below 0.5 mm) was treated with post-hydrolytic H2SO4 at 80 degrees C for 90-180 min, then vacuum filtered and dried. MgSO4 was sepd. from the filtrate by spray drying at 100 degrees C or by its concn. and crystn. A solid product contg. 44-61% of anhydrous MgSO4 and also hydrated MgSO4, FeSO4 and CaSO4 was obtained.
