摘要
The archaeology of Japanese and Japanese American internment has burgeoned in recent years, in large part developing out of research conducted by the National Park Service, and, to a more limited extent, cultural resource management firms and archaeologists working within the context of academia. This article places these previously conducted research projects in dialogue by looking at the challenges inherent in studying both demographically large and small internment camps. In particular, it focuses on the challenge of reconstructing context and provenience information, as well as consumption and depositional practices within internment camps.
