Climate crisis and economic growth: an analysis of China's energy security from 2000 to 2020

This article analyzes the Chinese energy security strategy from 2000 to 2020. To do this, it uses the concept of the International Energy Agency, which establishes the need for investments and a stable supply. Through the study of the Five-Year Plans formulated by the Communist Party of China, energy statistics, and reports from international agencies, the authors conclude that although the country plans to increase its endowment of renewable sources, it does not intend to abandon the use of fossil fuels in the next decade.
