摘要：

Concurrent design (CD) is one important;activity of concurrent engineering. CD focuses on producing an optimum design at a competitive cost by improving its manufacturability without affecting its function and performance. An integrated product concurrent design system is presented in this paper. It consists of integrated product model, an expert system for product manufacturability evaluation and the controller of concurrent design. With the help of controller of concurrent design, each design period can be evaluated based on manufacturing knowledge so that product concurrent design can be implemented from conceptual design to detail design based on the integrated product information model. Products and their design process can be optimized. The information and function integration of product design process can be realized. The time to market and the cost of product can be reduced.
