摘要
This chapter focuses on the chemistry and biochemistry of the plant hormone abscisic acid, hereafter referred to as ABA. We review concepts on the perception of ABA and the development of small molecule probes to identify and study ABA binding proteins. We discuss ABA metabolism in plants and recent advances in analytical techniques to profile ABA and its downstream products. We focus on analogs that are mimics of ABA and ABA metabolites, ABA-like analogs that block ABA binding and lastly, examples of practical applications of ABA and its analogs.
