摘要
A new equation of state (EOS) previously developed by equally partitioning the hole volume into each segment of the molecule is applied to low molecular weight materials. Application to these materials showed that the PVT surface of this EOS is unaffected by chain length, thus this EOS conforms to the principle of corresponding states theory. This EOS describes properly the pressure effects as in the case of polymer melts. It is found that the cell volume assumed by this EOS is much larger than that of the Simha-Somcynsky model. This is because more free volume is given to a segment at the same reduced temperature and pressure. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
