Fabrication of ion selective sensor using conducting polymer actuator

摘要
Conducting polymer (CP) actuators undergo volumetric changes due to the movement of dopant ions into the film during the electrical oxidation process. Meanwhile, the selective detection of specific ions is an important problem to be solved for environmental monitoring, process control and medical field. However, an ion selective sensor that can detect the specific ions has defects, which are lack of manufacturing technique in matrix, high price and complicated usage. Therefore, having noted the importance of specific ion selection in solution and the potential of CP actuator as an ion selective sensor material, a new CP actuator based on polypyrrole (PPy)-ionophore composite film electrodes for sodium ion selective sensor was constructed, and its feasibility as an ion selective sensor was confirmed.
