摘要
An electrochemical technique for the effective removal of nickel braze alloys from stainless steel and superalloy shields was developed. Braze removal rate in an inorganic electrolyte is influenced by the type of item under treatment, composition, pH, temperature of electrolyte and hydrodynamic conditions in the bath. The removal rates are in the range of 5 to 8 and 1.5 to 3 mu m/min for stators and airseals, respectively. The stripping process can be accomplished in 2 to 6 hours, depending on the item type and shroud material. No substantial corrosion of shroud materials was revealed by means of microscopic examination.
