摘要
Router placement in Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is an important research branch. In WMNs, mesh routers compose the WMN backbone or infrastructure that mesh clients could connect Internet through it. Among these mesh routers some of them having the gateway function are called mesh gateways (MGWs), and they are connected into Internet via high-speed wired links. In this paper we formulate the router placement as a multi-object optimization problem in linear programming, and aim at minimizing the number of routers used in an area, at the same time maximize the throughput of WMNs. Also, we present a novel method to indicate the candidate sites for routers to be placed. Moreover, we develop and evaluate some algorithms to solve the router placement problem. Finally, we show our simulation results for demonstrating our method.
