Ordering phenomena and phase transitions in a spin-crossover compound-uncovering the nature of the intermediate phase of [Fe(2-PiC)3]Cl2•EtOH

摘要
From disorder to order and back: Contrary to all earlier studies on [Fe(2-pic)3]Cl2· EtOH (pic = picolylamine), an ordered phase (IP) with two crystallographically different iron sites was found between disordered high-spin (HS) and low-spin (LS) phases. The picture shows the average Fe-N distances of all three phases.
