摘要
The electromagnetic behavior of rock during the failure process and uniaxial compression testing was investigated. Through uniaxial compression tests of seven rock types and four test conditions, it was found that both the rock type and test parameters affect the behavior of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) generation in rocks under loading. This research only involved laboratory testing and there remain many obstacles before in-situ testing of EMR emission can be conducted in practice. The results show that in comparison to instruments such as AE sensors, which must be placed in direct contact with bedrock, detection of EMR could be performed with a simple antenna, without contact with the bedrock.
