摘要
Education and public outreach (EPO) is one of the four components of the International Heliophysical Year (IHY). It is fundamental in achieving one of IHY's primary objectives which is to "demonstrate the beauty, relevance and significance of Space and Earth science to the world." In this paper we give an overview of the IHY-EPO Program. We describe its goals, structure, elements, plans and what have already been achieved. (C) 2007 COSPAR. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
