Modern head and neck cancer treatment is a carefully designed combination of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. This article briefly explains the rationale for multidisciplinary care and highlights the role of each member of the multidisciplinary team. Special consideration is given to the unique role of plastic surgeons with particular interest in head and neck reconstruction and microvascular surgery.
