摘要：

Joiner (this issue) discusses a number of interpersonal factors involved in depression maintenance. I provide further evidence that psychosocial factors contribute to depression maintenance from my work on ruminative coping styles. I propose developmental issues that may affect the search for erosive processes in depression. Finally, I suggest a focus for future research.
