摘要
Allergic diseases have been increased in the last decades. Recent knowledge about gastrointestinal microbiota shows that it plays a decisive role in the expression of allergy. This review describes the development of the microbiota, as well as the main factors that can modify it, altering its homeostasis and affecting its correct functioning. The intention of this paper, is to highlight the role of the gastrointestinal microbiota and its relationship with the immune response, also mention some of the main metabolites that are derived from it and their participation in allergy through different mechanisms.
