摘要
Titanium alloy Ti-5553 has the advantages of high strength and corrosion resistance, but its high cutting temperature and chemical activity in the machining process reduce its surface integrity. In this paper, the effect of surface integrity on fatigue life is analyzed in terms of surface morphology, microstructure, and residual stresses through liquid nitrogen cryogenic and dry cutting Ti-5553 experiments. The results show that the surface roughness parameter R-a and S-q both show a trend of decreasing and then increasing under the same cutting parameters. Under cryogenic cutting effectively improves surface integrity and extends the fatigue life of the specimen.
