摘要
In oral English learning, because boys and girls have different motivations, ages, social experiences and personalities and they prefer different topics and communicate in different language styles, they have different leaning characteristics and ways to learn English in class or out of class. When speaking English, boys usually are lacking of enough confidence and their motivation of studying language is not so strong as that of girls. This paper proposes some strategies to improve boys' oral English and their abilities to communicate in English on the basis of the boys' gender characteristics, such as conducting activities suited to the boys' taste to motivate them, giving positive feedbacks to increase their confidence, holding English speech contests and debates.
