摘要
The paper aim is to present the processing and characterization of hybrid composite materials. The hybrid composites were realized using aluminum alloys as matrices and silicon carbide and aluminum oxide particles as reinforcements. The ceramic particles used in composite materials had different rates in case of SiC (5, 10 and respectively 15%) and was constant in case of Al2O3 (3%). Were analyzed the processes that take place at the interface between matrix and reinforcements, as well as the wetability of ceramic particles by the melt. Structural analyses of hybrid composites were realized using optical and electron microscopy. The matrix nature and compounds have been investigated using an electron-probe microanalyzer and EDS analysis.
