摘要
The failure of politics, as determined by the appearance and historical exhaustion of "intramundane religions" (E. Voegelin) engraved in the collective mentality during the past century, determined a new form of a utopia which implies economics as a substitute of traditional morals. Therefore, in order to elude totalitarianism as an illegitimate form of social cohabitation, Man has approached a gregarious form that has eradicated bot self-consciousness and the redemptive ways of a secularized spirituality. The modern construction of the society is based on a malformed civism that emanated from the neoliberalism of the capitalist democracy. An anti-utopia in appearance, the government based on economics climaxing in globalization has turned into an insidious, socially coercive ethical mechanism that installed a "fatum" in which social disparities were accepted as a meritocratic "gift", a conception that is inherent to capitalist axiology. In making use of the democracy feints, globalization has inculcated into the masses, the conscience of a liberty that is similar to that of Dostoyevsky's Grand Inquisitor, which changed the "new man" or "Ubermensch" into the modern-day "Uberconsumer". The moral principle of loving one's neighbor changed to the ethics of tolerance, while the classical forms of utopia or Fourier's Phalanstere, sociocultural hypostases of a failed pattern of "Civitas Dei" (Augustine of Hippo), have their own avatars in an immense Panopticon in which people live the psychosis of being consumed themselves.
