The iron-antimony system:: enthalpies of formation of the FeSb2 and E-FeSb phases

摘要
The enthalpies of dissolution in pure liquid antimony of pure iron and of the intermediate phases FeSb2 and epsilon-FeSb are determined at 1065 K. The molar enthalpies of formation at 298 K of the FeSb2 and epsilon-FeSb phases referred to pure iron and antimony in the solid state are deduced. The following values are reported: Delta(f)H(Fe0.55Sb0.45)(o) (298 K) = -(5.1+/-0.4) kJ/mol of atoms and Delta(f)H(Fe0.333Sb0.667)(o) (298 K) = -(11.8+/-0.9) kJ/mol of atoms.
