Tri-Band Microstrip Antenna with L-Shaped Slots for Bluetooth/WLAN/WiMAX Applications

摘要
This paper develops a compact tri-band microstrip patch antenna for multiband applications. The multiband functionality is yielded by utilizing four monolith L-shaped slots etched within the rectangular radiating patch. The proposed antenna is basically a rectangular microstrip patch and a partial ground plane fed by a 50 Omega microstrip line. The proposed antenna has a simple structure with overall size of 20x20x1.6 mm(3). Extensive simulations are accomplished using 3D full-wave FEM-based EM simulator. The results evaluate good matching between the EM simulations and the measurements. The simulated radiation patterns at the desired resonant frequencies exhibits nearly Omni-directional. The proposed antenna can be used for Bluetooth, WLAN and WiMAX wireless communications applications at 2.4 GHz, 5.5 GHz and 3.5 GHz, respectively.
