Experimental and numerical studies of magnetization in a Pb-porous glass nanocomposite superconductor are reported. ZFC and FC magnetization revealed behavior typical for type-II superconductors with the critical temperature close to that in bulk lead. Magnetic instabilities were observed on the magnetization versus field hysteresis loops in the range 3.5 to 6 K. The magnetization jumps were successfully simulated using the adiabatic approximation which was developed for type-II superconductors. (C) 2011 American Institute of Physics. [doi:10.1063/1.3554663]
