Influence of boron content on the properties of Tm/Eu activated Sr3(PO4)2-x(BO3)x phosphors

摘要
We investigate the structure and luminescent properties of Sr-3(PO4)(2-x)(BO3)(x): Tm, Eu phosphors. The dependence of the structure and luminescent properties of the phosphors on the variation of boron content is studied. With increasing boron content in the composition of the phosphors, the content of crystalline phase Sr-3(PO4)(2) decreases, while the content of crystal Sr-5(PO4)(3)(OH) increases. This can induce different local environments for the doped Tm/Eu ions and change the luminescence behavior of the phosphors accordingly. The emission peak position and emission bandwidth can be controlled with varying boron content in the phosphors. In addition, sintering atmosphere also plays a role in modifying the luminescence of the phosphors. The Sr-3(PO4)(2-x)(BO3)(x): Tm, Eu phosphors possess potential prospects for light-emitting diodes applications.
