Crystallization of homopolymers confined in sherical or cylindrical nanodomains

摘要
The crystallization behavior of poly(δ-valerolactone) (PVL) homopolymers ([-(CH2)4-CO-O-]n spherically or cylindrically confined within PS matrices and differences in crystallization between PVL blocks and PVL homopolymers was reported. Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS)curves for V8-S21 and V8/S21 at room temperature show a few scattering peaks, and the angular positions of these peaks exactly correspond to the ratio of 1:√3:√4, indicating that the PVL cylindrical microdomain is formed in PS matrices. The melting temperature and heat of fusion of PVL chains show that the PVL homopolymer has a higher crystallizability than the PVL block in the same nanodomain. Isothermal crystallization of PVL blocks and PVL homopolymers by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) show a steep increase at early stage crystallization followed by an asymptotic increase at late stage.
