摘要
Many attempts have been made to derive closed-form algebraic expressions for the tensile strength of paper in terms of its microstructure. Although a number of reviewers have examined and compared some of these models, there has been a lack of a comprehensive review. Previous reviews, for example, have largely ignored the work of Kane as well as Allan and Neogi. Furthermore, the attempts to compare these models have resulted in conflicting conclusions. The present article aims to provide a comprehensive and critical discussion of all of the important closed-form network models for the tensile strength of paper.
