摘要
Following prior findings on the revolutionary power of government institutional support on the actualization of enterprises' objectives, the present study analyzes its role as well as market performance on eco-innovation adoption. A hierarchical linear regression analysis underpins our empirical estimation. To validate this study's hypotheses about the direct effect of government institutional support on eco-innovation and the moderating role of market performance, we collected data from 189 manufacturing enterprises in Benin. The findings show that government institutional support positively influences eco-innovation. Additionally, we found that market performance has a negative significant moderating effect on the nexus between government institutional support and eco-innovation. Based on the results, we formulated that the empirical implications emphasize the collab-orative efforts of government and enterprises for eco-innovation adoption by identifying significant constraints, developing short-and long-term resource allocation layouts, and unwavering resource-sharing cooperation among enterprises. We shed light on the enabling aggregate effect of policies, programs, and crucial resource offerings conceptualized as government institutional support on firms' eco-innovation. We also offer novel in-sights into the motivational role of market performance in moderating this relationship, which is based on en-terprises' recognition of the associated financial and customer benefits.
