摘要
A valuable source of information for decisions on maintenance or improvements for redundant systems is the evaluation of importances on the basis of fault trees and cut-sets, as used for the Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA). This paper provides a short review of the technique, and outlines the main problem areas for its application. If properly applied, the technique leads to a more efficient use of available resources, and to an improved dependability of systems.
