摘要：

This article aims to question the ways of financing and making academic journals in the digital era. First, it deals with the cost of each volume and article, based on the authors' experience on the editorial board of the French journal of social sciences Traces. It then attempts to delineate several forms of accesses to online articles and reviews. Finally, it discusses the new formats and editorial changes that "open access" could entail in the years to come, inviting academic journal editors to rethink the relationship between hard copy and digital version.
