摘要
The overview is concerned with discussion of the feasibility of detection of ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays (UHECR) by radio technique using satellite-borne and balloon-borne receivers. The essence of the UHECR paradox is presented, and various models aimed at its resolution are considered. The mechanisms of radio wave generation by extensive air showers (EASs) are discussed. Information about EAS structure and properties as well as the results of the calculations of radio pulses associated with EASs are presented. The peculiarities of detection of these pulses by satellite-borne, balloon-borne, and ground-based receivers are discussed, and various sources of background interference are considered.
