摘要
In this paper, a Class-C voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) for 24 GHz FMCW radar system is presented. In order to achieve a good phase noise performance and get a wide frequency tuning range, a switched capacitor bank is used for coarse-tuning and fine-tuning the output frequency of VCO. The proposed VCO is fabricated in 65-nm CMOS process and occupies a die area of 0.38x0.5 mm(2).The tuning range of the VCO is 21.95 similar to 24.25 GHz. At 24.25 GHz, the measured phase noise is -100.79 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset and the figure of merit (FoM) is 179.3 dBc. Total power consumption of the VCO is 8 mW from 1 V supply.
