摘要：

Quantum well waveguide photodetectors that contain two inline segments have been used as wavelength monitors with sensitivities in the picometer range. Multi-segment detectors can also be configured as wavelength demultiplexers to separate up to four optical communications channels. We review recent work in this area and report on the use of a wavelength monitor for the 1.55 mu m region in a fiber optic strain sensor application.
