摘要
The article discusses how genetic testing and neuroimaging could be used to improve detection of psychiatric disorders. By correlating variations in DNA with disease risks, researchers may be able to determine which small differences in a patient's genetic sequence can make that person more vulnerable to schizophrenia, autism or other illnesses. Earlier diagnosis could allow doctors to slow or halt the progress of a disorder before it becomes debilitating.
