摘要
This is my final issue as Editor of the Journal of Media Economics (JME), a position I have served with much pride and honor since being appointed Editor early in 1996. 1 would like to take this time to look back over these 9 years and share a few reflections on my tenure. in this role. This may seem self-serving to some readers, but I believe I am entitled to a few thoughts about editing a journal, if nothing else than perhaps to inspire some younger scholars to consider taking this step at some point in their career. Looking back, I was fortunate to be selected as the second Editor of this journal. I had limited editing experience at the time, having served as a Guest Editor back in Volume 8 for an issue devoted to the topic of "Theory and Media Economics Research" and serving on the JME Editorial Board for about 4 years, during which I reviewed 2-3 submissions each year. Prior to me, Robert Picard served as Editor and Dennis Hale served as Associate Editor-both were very helpful with the transition. Once the transition was complete, I realized there was a lot about editing a journal I was not prepared for and that I would need to learn much through trial and error.
