Element-Staggered, Circularly Polarized Reflectarray With Linearly Polarized Feed for 5G applications

摘要
This paper presents a circularly polarized reflect array with linearly polarized feed operating at 28GHz for 5G applications. The proposed reflectarray is composed of a flat reflecting surface populated with numerous two-layer ground backed non-resonant subwavelength rectangular patch elements which are in staggered arrangement and a Vivaldi antenna as the linearly feeder. Simulated results demonstrated that the reflectarray provides a gain around 27dB and a axial ratio better than 3dB within the 24-32 GHz operating frequency range (equivalently 29% bandwidth).
