摘要
Berberine significantly inhibited the root growth of several invasive weeds [Bidens pilosa L., Mikania micrantha Kunth, Conyza bonariensis (L.) Cronq., Pistia stratiotes L., Alternanthera philoxeroides Griseb and the the plant Arabidopsis thaliana]. The IC50 value of berberine after 7-days, on the fresh weight of B. pilosa was lower than the IC50 value of glyphosate or pendimethalin herbicides. In pot experiments, berberine decreased the fresh weight of roots and stems of B. pilosa. In A. thaliana transgenic CYCB1: GUS line, the berberine decreased the CYCB1 activity and inhibited the cell division in the roots. These results suggested that berberine can be used as a biocontrol agent to control the invasive weeds.
