摘要
A modified Pythagorean tree fractal patch antenna is proposed in this article. The proposed fractal geometry is iterative up to third iteration and designed on FR4 substrate of dielectric constant 4.4 and thickness of 0.8 mm. The final iteration of the design shows multiband characteristics which include 1.38 GHz, 4.34 GHz, 7.96 GHz, 14.27 GHz, 17.1 GHz and 18.09 GHz frequencies with a maximum gain of 4dBi. Further, the proposed antenna is made compatible with monolithic microwave integrated circuits with the application of micro-machining process by designing the final iteration on the silicon substrate. Finally, simulated and fabricated results shows quite resemblance and the design is suitable for earth exploration satellite services.
